What are some example of Gender Stereotypes?

So you are probably asking yourself, What are some gender stereotypes examples? Well the most common one, used in media, stores and even in schools is "Blue is for boys, and pink is for girls". This is a stereotype people use everyday. Even when your a baby, parents usually paint a boy room blue, and paint girls room with pink! To be honest, it is hard to imagine a boy in a pink room, thanks to how much of this stereotypes is used every single day! Another stereotypes is that boys have to play with action figures, gun, super heroes, while girls have to play with barbies, stuffed animals. This stereotype is mostly used in stores because it depends on what kind of audience is advertised to. For example, if you see a barbie commercial and only a women is playing with the barbie, then of course your going to be giving the thought that the product is a women toy, or vice versa. Thanks to this advertising, i cant even imagine a boy playing with a barbie without being teased, or critized. Then theres the big stereotype saying that men are always better then women. Its been like this since the dawn of time! Although the past years have favoured womens, for example Argentina having the president be a girl, or Hillary Clinton running for president for United States.

The media is improving and not showing this stereotypes as much. For example the other day i saw a advertisment of a toy vacumn cleaner that was dirrected to both man and women, proving that the stereotype of women having to clean is false. The adevertisement also favoured the color stereotype, making the men vacumn cleaner be blue, while the girl vacumn cleaner be pink, but atleast its better then other advertisement.
